ZoFound Terms of Use
Current versionVersion 1.0.0 · effective from 8 October 2026
1. Scope and contracting party
1.1 These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the ZoFound app and the associated websites (together, the “Service”).
1.2 Your contracting party is LOVY, a sole proprietorship under Danish law (PMV), owner Jan Lektonen, CVR no. 26132517, address and contact details in the Legal notice (“we”, “us”). ZoFound is a brand owned and operated by LOVY.
1.3 By creating an account you enter into an agreement with us covering the free part of the Service. Paid features are purchased separately (clause 8).
1.4 Our Community Guidelines and acceptable-use rules apply in addition and form part of these Terms. How we process your data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which is binding information rather than part of the contract.
1.5 Your own differing terms do not become part of the contract unless we have expressly agreed to them in text form.
1.6 These Terms also serve as the End User Licence Agreement (EULA) for the app.
2. Who may use ZoFound
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old. ZoFound is an adults-only service. You provide your date of birth when you register; you cannot change it yourself afterwards. We suspend and delete accounts we reasonably believe belong to a minor.
2.2 You must have legal capacity and must not be barred from using the Service under sanctions or export rules.
2.3 One person, one account. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and must keep your credentials confidential.
2.4 Verification. Before your profile becomes visible to others, we use a selfie comparison to check that the photos on your profile show you. Only once your profile is complete and verified do you appear to others and become contactable. Verification is free and is not a paid add-on. How the data is processed — including the legal basis — is set out in the Privacy Policy, clause 7.
2.5 You may not use the Service if we have previously closed your account permanently for a breach of these Terms.
3. The Service — what ZoFound is and is not
3.1 ZoFound helps people meet online first and build real connections from there. The Service has two separate areas (“lenses”), which you may use individually or together:
- Romance — meeting people with a romantic intention.
- Friendship — meeting people platonically, plus communities and events.
What you do in one area is kept separate from the other.
3.2 Depending on the area, your plan and your settings, the Service includes:
- Profile and suggestions. You create a profile. Our AI coaches show you profiles and introduce you to people. We deliberately distinguish three things: a revealed profile (the coach shows you a profile), an introduction (the coach brings two people together with a reason; both receive it) and a match — a match arises only when both sides have said yes.
- Messages and calls. Text messages and, where your plan includes them, voice and video calls. Calls are never “cold”: the other person is told who is calling and must accept before a connection is established.
- Communities and events. Groups and gatherings — online or at a physical location — including moderated Speed Dating evenings.
- Planning meetings. The coach mediates an appointment between two people and reminds both.
- Verification (clause 2.4) and safety tools (report, block).
3.3 We promise no outcome. We owe you access to the features described — not a match, not a date, not a relationship. Suggestions and introductions are recommendations, not commitments. Even a “match” only means that both sides have signalled interest.
3.4 Other users are not our agents. We check identity through the verification in clause 2.4 but cannot guarantee that everything other users state is accurate. Meet people in public places, tell someone where you are going, and never send money to someone you met online.
3.5 Development. We may develop the Service further, add features and — to the extent reasonable for you — change or discontinue them. Clause 11 applies in addition to paid features.
3.6 Using the Service requires a compatible device and an internet connection; those costs are yours.
4. AI features and the coaches
4.1 You are talking to an AI, not to a human being. ZoFound’s coaches — currently Zoe, Felix and Sara — are AI systems. Their faces and voices are artificially generated and belong to no real person. We say so wherever you speak with a coach (Article 50(1) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 — the AI Act).
4.2 The technology behind it. Text and voice conversations run on Google Vertex AI (Gemini) in the EU. The video conversation with the coach is generated by Tavus, Inc. (USA); picture and sound are transferred to the USA for that purpose. Details and the legal basis are in the Privacy Policy, clauses 6, 9 and 10.
4.3 Not professional advice. The coaches are not doctors, therapists, lawyers or financial advisers. Their answers may be wrong. Use your own judgement and seek professional advice on health, legal or financial matters. If you are in an emergency, call 112 or contact a helpline.
4.4 AI-generated images. Some images in the Service — for example event cover art — are generated by AI. We label them.
4.5 Chat reading only with consent. A coach reads the content of a conversation with another person only where both participants have agreed; it then reads only the most recent messages at the moment help is given, and does not store them. You may withdraw that consent at any time.
4.6 Misusing the AI is prohibited. You must not try to make a coach breach these Terms, produce prohibited content or reveal another person’s data.
5. Your content
5.1 Photos, videos, text, audio recordings and other content you upload or send (“your content”) remain yours.
5.2 You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable right to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display and technically adapt your content — solely in order to operate, secure and improve the Service (for example to show your profile to the people you want to show it to, to deliver your messages, and to create previews and summaries). That right ends when the content or your account is deleted, except for backups, copies other users have already received, and retention required by law.
5.3 You warrant that you hold the necessary rights to your content and that people shown in it have agreed.
5.4 Publicly shared quotes. If you expressly permit us to display a quote or experience publicly, we may do so until you withdraw that consent; on account deletion we always remove such publications.
5.5 We do not sell your content and do not use it to train third-party AI models.
6. Rules of conduct
6.1 The Community Guidelines apply. In particular, the following are prohibited: harassment, hate, threats, doxxing; fraud and phishing; selling sexual services; trading in drugs or weapons; nudity and sexually explicit material; graphic violence; any sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance, reported to the authorities); impersonation; spam and advertising; automated data harvesting (scraping); and attacks on the security of the Service.
6.2 You may not use the Service commercially, recruit people for paid services or ask other users for money.
6.3 You may not reverse-engineer, circumvent or automate use of the Service except where the law expressly permits it.
7. Moderation, reporting, statements of reasons and complaints
7.1 What we check (Article 14(1) DSA). We use both automated checks and human review:
- Group and community chats are checked automatically in full.
- One-to-one chats are always checked against a fixed word list; further AI checking happens only for new accounts and after a report.
- Images and videos are checked before they are shown; if an item cannot be assessed, it is not shown.
- Human review takes place for every report and for every measure affecting your account as a whole.
7.2 Reporting (Article 16 DSA). You can report any profile, message, thread and call in the app (“Report”). Reports are anonymous towards the reported person. We confirm receipt, act promptly — target: within 24 hours — and prioritise reports involving an acute safety risk and reports concerning the protection of minors. You can also reach us outside the app: privacy@zofound.com.
7.3 Measures. Proportionate and graduated: (1) remove content, (2) warning, (3) temporary mute in a group, (4) removal from an event, (5) platform-wide restriction, (6) permanent closure of the account. Steps 1 to 4 may be triggered automatically; steps 5 and 6 are always taken by a human.
7.4 Statement of reasons (Article 17 DSA). If we restrict one of your items of content, your visibility or your account, we tell you and state the reason, the rule concerned, whether the decision was made automatically, and how you can challenge it.
7.5 Complaints. If you disagree with a decision you may challenge it within six months — in the app via the notification itself, or by email to support@zofound.com. Your complaint is reviewed by a human, not by automated means alone. We tell you the outcome with reasons. Your right to go to a court or competent authority is unaffected.
7.6 Repeated misuse. Anyone who repeatedly posts manifestly illegal content, or repeatedly submits manifestly unfounded reports, may — after a prior warning — be suspended temporarily or permanently from the affected features.
7.7 Blocking. You can block any person at any time, free of charge. A block applies platform-wide and in both areas. The blocked person is not notified.
7.8 ZoFound is not a very large online platform within the meaning of Article 33 DSA. As a micro-enterprise we are exempt from parts of Section 3 of the DSA (Article 19); we offer the procedures described in this clause regardless.

8. Subscriptions, one-time purchases and prices
8.1 The free part. Your account, profile, verification, the conversations with the coach while building your profile, the daily revealed profiles in Romance, participation in communities and events within the applicable limits, and replying to incoming messages are free.
8.2 Paid features. ZoFound currently offers:
| Product | Type | Contents (in short) |
|---|---|---|
| Love-Pass | one-time purchase, repeatable | A package of personal introductions in Romance |
| Love-Premium | subscription, monthly or yearly | Full access in Romance |
| Friends-Premium | subscription, monthly or yearly | Full access in Friendship, including creating your own communities and events |
| AllInOne | subscription, monthly or yearly | Full access in both areas |
| Discreet | subscription, monthly | Add-on for visibility and incognito use |
The current contents and the price including all taxes are shown before purchase in the app. What is displayed in the purchase flow governs.
to follow
8.3 Where the contract is concluded. You buy paid features through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The payment contract is concluded there; Apple or Google is your seller, bills you and issues the receipt. We receive no payment details. The purchase unlocks the corresponding functionality in your ZoFound account; for that we are your contracting party.
8.4 Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the period chosen (month or year) until you cancel. Renewal is normally charged 24 hours before the end of the current period.
8.5 Cancellation. You cancel a subscription where you took it out:
- iPhone/iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play → profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; until then you keep access. In the app, Profile → … → Subscription links directly to the right place.
8.6 No free trial. ZoFound offers no free trial. An introductory price may apply for the first billing period; it is disclosed before purchase and applies only once per person and subscription group. The regular price applies thereafter.
8.7 One-time purchases. The Love-Pass is a one-time purchase. The introductions you buy with it do not expire; they are delivered over several days after purchase so you have time to respond to each one.
8.8 Refunds. Refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases are decided by Apple or Google under their terms. Your statutory rights — in particular the right of withdrawal (clause 9) and your rights where the service is defective (clause 11) — are unaffected. A separate refund rule for Speed Dating tickets is shown in the booking flow.
8.9 Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods. We notify you at least 30 days in advance in the app or by email. You may cancel before the change takes effect; periods already running continue at the old price. Apple’s and Google’s own price-increase consent procedures apply in addition.
8.10 Limits and quotas. Some features are limited in volume (for example the number of introductions, Speed Dating tickets, or minutes with the video coach). The applicable limits are shown in the app. We do not retroactively cut a quota you have already paid for without offering you a fair remedy.
8.11 Gift cards. Gift cards for ZoFound features may in future be offered through our website. Supplementary terms and a separate right of withdrawal apply to those purchases (clause 9.3).
9. Right of withdrawal
9.1 Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts. The full notice, including the model withdrawal form, is set out in Right of withdrawal.
9.2 Purchases via the App Store or Google Play. Because the payment contract is concluded with Apple or Google, you exercise withdrawal for those purchases there; both provide their own procedure. Write to us if you get stuck — we will help.
9.3 Purchases directly from us. If in future you buy a gift card or another service directly through our website, withdrawal is governed exclusively by our withdrawal notice.
10. Term, termination and deletion
10.1 The free usage agreement runs for an indefinite period. You may end it at any time without notice by deleting your account: Profile → … → Account → Delete account.
10.2 Deletion in three steps, with a cooling-off period. After you confirm and re-authenticate, your account is deactivated immediately and becomes invisible to everyone else. If you sign in again within 14 days, it is fully restored. After that it is permanently deleted — which cannot be undone. Which data is removed, anonymised or retained for legal reasons is set out in the Privacy Policy, clause 11.
10.3 A running subscription does not end automatically when the account is deleted. Cancel it separately where you took it out (clause 8.5).
10.4 Termination by us. We may terminate the agreement on 30 days’ notice in text form. For good cause — in particular serious or repeated breaches of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, danger to other people, or legal obligations — we may terminate without notice and suspend access immediately. We act proportionately, give you the reason (clause 7.4) and, where justifiable, an opportunity to respond. Where termination for cause is justified, we refund the pro-rata price for unused, already paid periods only to the extent required by law.
10.5 On termination your usage rights end. Clauses 5.2 (residual licence), 12, 14 and all provisions which by their nature should survive remain in force.
11. Defects and updates to digital services
11.1 The EU-harmonised rules on consumer contracts for digital content and digital services (Directive (EU) 2019/770; in Germany §§ 327 et seq. BGB, in Denmark the Sale of Goods Act) apply to paid features. We owe supply in the agreed and in the objectively normal quality.
11.2 Updates. During the supply period — for one-time purchases, for the period you may reasonably expect given the nature of the product — we provide the updates necessary to keep the Service in conformity, including security updates, and inform you about them.
11.3 Changes beyond what is necessary. We may change the Service beyond clause 11.2 where there is a valid reason (for example adapting to a new technical environment, security, legal requirements, or a significant number of users), you incur no additional cost, and we inform you clearly and comprehensibly. If such a change adversely affects your access or use other than insignificantly, we inform you at least 30 days in advance in text form and you may end the contract free of charge within 30 days.
11.4 If a feature is defective you may, under the statutory rules, require it to be brought into conformity and — where the statutory conditions are met — reduce the price, end the contract or claim damages. Write to support@zofound.com.
11.5 No uninterrupted availability. We announce planned maintenance where possible. Short-term disruptions and outages caused by events outside our control do not constitute a defect where they are insignificant.
12. Liability
12.1 We are liable without limitation for damage arising from injury to life, body or health, for intent and gross negligence, for fraudulent concealment of a defect, to the extent of any guarantee given, and under product liability law.
12.2 For ordinary negligence we are liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation — an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely. In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract.
12.3 Our liability is otherwise excluded.
12.4 Clauses 12.1 to 12.3 also apply in favour of our staff, representatives and agents.
12.5 We are not liable for the conduct of other users unless we are ourselves at fault — in particular not for what other people write to you, promise you or do outside the Service.
12.6 None of this alters the burden of proof to your detriment.
13. Changes to these Terms
13.1 We may amend these Terms where there is an objective reason — such as a change in the law, case law, new or changed features, or closing a gap — and the change does not unreasonably disadvantage you.
13.2 Material changes to these Terms or to the Privacy Policy are put to you for renewed acceptance. The next time you start the app, a notice shows you the new version; without your acceptance you cannot continue to use the Service, but you may delete your account at any time (clause 10.1). We therefore deliberately do not rely on deemed acceptance — we do not treat your silence as agreement.
13.3 Purely editorial corrections without substantive effect are made without renewed acceptance.
13.4 The version in force at any time is available with its version number and date in the app and
at zofound.com/trust/terms. Which version you accepted and when is stored in your account and
forms part of your data copy.
14. Governing law, jurisdiction and dispute resolution
14.1 Danish law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. This choice of law does not deprive you, as a consumer, of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country in which you are habitually resident (Article 6(2) Rome I Regulation). For consumers habitually resident in Germany, mandatory German consumer protection law continues to apply.
14.2 You may sue us at your place of residence or at our seat. We may sue you only at your place of residence (Articles 17 to 19 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012).
14.3 On consumer dispute resolution, see the Legal notice, clause 7. The European Commission’s ODR platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025.
